Review + Swatches: The Balm Cabana Boy Blush

Last year when I visited Gent, I was also looking for a blush that's more brighter than my blush for everyday.
I went to Beautyqueen where I found the perfect blush.
They have many brands and one of them was The Balm. I already knew this was a very good brand for blushes.
So when I entered Beautyqueen I asked the saleswoman for a blush that was more brighter than my everyday blush.
She said that The Balm Cabana Boy was a perfect blush for a more brighter look.
Then she said that I should take brush and have to dab it off on the back of my hand. I immediately liked it.

The blush (you could also use it as a eyeshadow) is a muted raspberry pink with a subtle golden sheen, more luminous than shimmery.
It's soft, smooth and silky. It has plenty of pigmentation, so slowly build up color as needed.
Also the packaging is really great. It's housed in a cardboard compact with a mirror and a vintage imagery (which I very like).

It costs $ 21/ € 16  and is available at Beautyqeen in Gent, Di and online at www.thebalm.com

MAC x Philip Treacy Spring 2015

On April 18 MAC will launches a collection with Philip Treacy. He is known for his famous hats on the heads of Lady Gaga, Princess Beatrice, Madonna and many more.
Philip Treacy's designs are all about feminine, dramatic flair, etc...
Philip Treacy pulled inspiration from his work to create a trio of sensational hats to showcase the structure of the face.
Paired with each hat, a collection of products that enhances the face’s most evocative features.

The starting point for the collaboration are his designs.
‘We went to our archives with the Mac team and I selected pieces that did something for me.’

The collection is broken into three themes: ‘A kind of futuristic Hollywood, one is all about colour and the other is a kind of Gothic, modern future’. ‘I worked with Mac for about 20 years and they’ve always sponsored my catwalk shows.
MAC asked me if he be interested in a project with them and was immediately in for it.
Philip Treacy gets it. He understands that make-up is important: ‘You can transform yourself with beautiful make-up.
It is an enhancer; people buy a lipstick to cheer themselves up. It’s about having fun with what you’ve got’.

The collection includes lipsticks, pro longwear paint pots, high-light powder, fluidlines and more.
The collection will be available in April in selected MAC stores.

Event: Opening Salima Thakker Store

Last year I was invited to the opening of the new store from Salima Thakker.
She had a pop-up store in Knokke in the summer from last year and now she has moved to the center of Antwerp.
She has moved her store from Oever 28 to the Kloosterstraat in Antwerp.
I was really suprised by this street, because I never went there before. I really liked the feeling there.
Vintage furniture shops, cosy places to eat,... the Kloosterstraat has it all.

The house was build in the 19th century and was formely known as they say in Antwerp: a druppelkot.
For the interior, the store was designed by B-bis architects. They already designed stores for icons like Walter Van Beirendonck, Veronique Branquinho en Annemie Verbeke.
They designed a island cabinet where all the jewelry is exposed. The walls of the store were coated with copper plates with on it wooden slats.
Some big mirrors make the interior complete.

The jewellery from Salima Thakker is known for here fine and delicate craftsmanship.
They're totally not for my budget, but they're also nice to see.

Banana Moon Spring/Summer 2015

Always when I'm at sea I immediately ran to the stores where they sell the Banana Moon bikini's.
They're always fun and flirty.

The new summer collection is called 'tropical taste' and let you dream of an exotic trip.
Tropical prints lead you from the catwalk to the beach.
This makes you hot for a summer in paradise.

The theme "Gypset" gives you a bohemian twist in modern times.
The crochet details, fringes, embroidery and beads create a boho chic look, which you enter into the world of neo nomads.

Which one is your favourite?

I'm a Barbie Girl

Sorry for the lack updates, but I've been busy with school and other hobby's.
When I saw the Spring/Summer collection 2015 from Moschino, I was immediately hooked. The theme was Barbie inspired.
I really loved several items from this collection.
Just like the Mc Donalds theme before there were clothes and bags with the Moschino logo instead of the Barbie logo.
I picked the clutch bag which is a perfect accessory for me.

Barbie has been a fashion icon for years, even for me. I really loved playing with Barbies when I was younger.
I even had a swimming pool, a camper, closets and a Ken doll.
I loved to brush my Barbies hair, change their clothes and their was even a lady from my mum's work who made handmade clothes for the Barbie.
The lady made a skiing suit, a wedding dress (which is still in my room on a Barbie) and more.

Barbie has even her own Instagram where she wears the most stylish designer clothes, bags, accessories and shoes.
She also inspired a pop group called Aqua in 1997 to bring a song about Barbie and Ken.

Hope you like the clutch as much as I do.
